Deb Haynes

Executive Director

Deb joined Food for Others in August of 2023. She is passionate about making our community an equitable and healthy place for all, where no one goes hungry. Deb came to Food for Others after seven years in homeless services. She spends her spare time with her family, playing board games, and spoiling her pets.

Development

Anna (Slaten) Perez

Director of Development & Outreach

Anna joined the Food for Others team as Director of Development & Outreach in April of 2022. Passionate about both food security and advocating for a more equitable food system in our community, Anna is excited to have joined the team. In her spare time, Anna can often be found exploring local farmers’ markets, baking, or chasing after her Bernedoodle, Stevie.

Hannah Brockway

Development Manager

Hannah joined the team in April 2023 after being drawn to Food for Others’ emphasis on community and impact. Hannah’s focus on food justice began in Roanoke, VA while serving with AmeriCorps.

In her spare time, you can often find Hannah exploring the local hiking trails, reading a book, or rewatching Star Wars!

Volunteer Services

Kyle Hughes

Director of Volunteer Services

Kyle joined the Food for Others team in February 2026 as Director of Volunteer Services. He is deeply committed to serving individuals and families in need, expanding meaningful volunteer opportunities, and ensuring every volunteer has a rewarding and impactful experience.

In his free time, Kyle enjoys hiking, staying informed on global news and current events, and antiquing.

Kyle welcomes opportunities to connect with new groups and individuals interested in partnering to support the community through both established and innovative volunteer initiatives. Ashley Weston

Interim Volunteer Manager

Ashley officially joined the Food for Others team in January 2025. She holds a B.A. in Human Development and Family Science from George Mason University and is a Credentialed Advocate (CA). She has gained valuable experience interning at Food for Others from June to December 2024, where she worked volunteer shifts and developed learning materials. Outside of her professional pursuits, Ashley enjoys learning new things, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending quality time with her husband and friends.

April Frazier Simmons

Director of Operations & Client Services

April has been working at Food for Others since 2001. She has spent so many years with FFO because she enjoys helping people in need. On the weekends, April spends time with her children and grandchildren.

Brittany Marteney

Senior Program Manager

Brittany Marteney was born and raised in Fairfax. She works for Food for Others because she wants to have a positive impact on the community. In her spare time, she enjoys cuddling with her two hound dogs, Scarlet and Princeton, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Birrill Martin Charlien

Warehouse & Facilities Manager

Martin is a passionate logistician with over 10 years of experience supporting major humanitarian crises in Africa with various international non-profit organizations. He joined FFO in August 2025 as the Warehouse & Facilities Manager to continue his work of helping communities. When not at work, you can find him playing tennis with his family or hiking a trail in the DMV area.

Stella Shey

P3 Program Manager

Stella first joined Food for Others as a volunteer in May of 2024 during a career break, using the time to recharge and reflect on future career paths.  She found deep fulfillment in serving and helping others and struggled with the idea of having to step away.  Just as she was contemplating her next career move, the perfect opportunity to officially join the organization became available and she is excited to now be able to serve as the P3 Program Manager at Food for Others.  She is looking forward to strategizing, planning and expanding the P3 Program to impact and serve more students in need through our enduring and growing partnerships with vendors, affiliates, schools, and volunteers.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her rescue dog Bentley, reading, gardening, exploring local farmers markets and craft shows, and staying active with yoga, fitness classes and pickleball.  

Antonio Artiga

Warehouse Associate

Antonio joined the team during the summer of 2025 and can often be found in the Power Pack warehouse!

Axcelyn Tejada

Client Services Manager

Axcelyn joined the FFO family in July 2023. She deeply enjoys being part of a workplace who’s mission is oriented around helping people. Axcelyn strongly believes that we must serve others since it connects us back to the human essence. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her baby Samantha, her family, and her church.

Brittany Tiongson

Food Resources and Nutrition Coordinator
Brittany Tiongson joined the Food for Others team in 2025 as the Food Resources and Nutrition Coordinator. She has a strong passion for nutrition, holistic health, and promoting overall well-being within the community. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, listening to music, and roller skating.

Cal Medrano

Client Resource Coordinator

Cal graduated from George Mason University in their Humanities & Social Science college and began working for Food for Others in February of 2024. Cal majored in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainable agriculture at George Mason University. Their passion lies in Urban agriculture and humanitarian work within their community, which led them here to Food for Others! Outside of work Cal’s a big enjoyer of carnivorous plants, trying new restaurants and fashion.  

Cesar Gonzalez Perdomo

Warehouse Associate

Cesar joined the Food for Others team in November 2024. As a Northern Virginia native, Cesar was drawn to Food for Others’ community impact. He joined the team with a wealth of knowledge, having worked with other food banks and pantries in the area.

When he isn’t at Food for Others, you can find Cesar with his family or playing Pokémon.

Mauricio Castillo

Warehouse Associate & Driver

Mauricio began working at Food for Others in 2008.  He loves driving FFO’s trucks to our neighborhood sites and to pick up food donations.  After hours, Mauricio enjoys playing soccer and visiting local parks with his children.

Pete Girondo

Warehouse Associate & Driver

Pete joined the Food for Others team in February of 2023 as a warehouse staff member and driver. This is Pete’s first time working in the nonprofit world after working at a Benjamin Moore private retailer for 4 years. Pete is excited to be a member of the Food for Others team. In his free time, Pete likes the outdoors, sneakers, and giant monster movies, such as King Kong and Godzilla.  

Rossio Senzano

Warehouse Associate

Rossio has been a member of FFO’s warehouse staff since 2010. She likes her job because the high level of activity in the warehouse always keeps her busy. Rossio spends her free time caring for her five-year-old niece and 10-year-old nephews.

Warren Dorr

Market Coordinator

Warren was born in Peru but has lived in the Northern Virginia area for the majority of his life. He spent years moving around the United States and even spent a year in Hawaii, which was his favorite place to live. He chose to work at Food for Others because he has needed help in the past and is now passionate about giving back. Warren is a fan of all Washington sports teams and in his free time enjoys playing sports with his son.

Alpha Bah

Alpha joined the team in September 2025 and is a member of our Main Warehouse staff team. He enjoys being part of the team and contributing to the mission of Food for Others!

When not at work, he enjoys hobbies like playing sports, enjoying board games with his friends and family, and trying different foods in the area with friends.

Morale Team Lead

Since joining Food for Others in 2022, Stevie has taken her role as Morale Team Lead to heart. You can often find her at community and Food for Others events, spreading smiles and lifting spirits wherever she goes.
