Annie Turner

Executive Director

Annie’s involvement with Food for Others began in 2002 as a Neighborhood Site Volunteer. She was not only moved by the need for food in Northern Virginia but also by Food for Others’ community of staff and volunteers who stepped in to help. Annie served on Food for Others’ Board of Directors for seven years and began her role as Executive Director in July of 2016. In her free time, she can be found outside – hiking, biking, or traveling and she loves to spend time with her family.

Anna Slaten

Director of Development & Outreach

Anna joined the Food for Others team as Director of Development & Outreach in April of 2022. Passionate about both food security and advocating for a more equitable food system in our community, Anna is excited to have joined the team. In her spare time, Anna loves hiking, traveling, and chasing after her Bernedoodle puppy, Stevie.

April Frazier Simmons

Director of Operations & Client Services

April has been working at Food for Others since 2001. She has spent so many years with FFO because she enjoys helping people in need. On the weekends, April spends time with her children and grandchildren

Nikki Clifford

Director of Volunteer Services

Nikki joined the Food for Others team in 2010. She loves working at FFO because when she leaves the office each day, she knows that she has helped someone in need. In her free time, she can be found knitting, teaching Italian to her nephew, or hanging out with her mom and her husband.

Leo Delgado

Warehouse Supervisor

Leo has been with Food for Others for 11 years. He has stayed with FFO for so many years because of his strong relationships with the staff, volunteers, and the clients. Leo is a dedicated football fan and loves to go jet skiing.

Brittany Marteney

Program Manager

Brittany Marteney was born and raised in Fairfax. She works for Food for Others because she wants to have a positive impact on the community. In her spare time, she enjoys cuddling with her two hound dogs, Scarlet and Princeton, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Shannon White

Volunteer Coordinator

Shannon is a Northern Virginia native, growing up in Alexandria. She’s worked in volunteer management for the past five years, and she’s a proud board member of the Northern Virginia Association for Volunteer Administration. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her 7 year old son and drinking coffee.

Karen Peralta

Front Desk

Originally from Manta, Ecuador, Karen joined the FFO team in 2020 to check in families at our front desk. She decided to work at Food for Others because she loves helping people. Outside of work, you will find Karen at brunch with her friends, reading a book, or playing with her dog.

Jennlliz Garcia

Food Resources Coordinator

Jenn wanted to work in the Food for Others Warehouse because she is passionate about helping the community. She enjoys interacting with our clients, especially the families. After hours, Jenn enjoys cooking, dancing, listening to music, and coloring with her young children.

Warehouse Staff

Mauricio Castillo

Mauricio began working at Food for Others in 2008.  He loves driving FFO’s trucks to our neighborhood sites and to pick up food donations.  After hours, Mauricio enjoys playing soccer and visiting local parks with his children.

Rossio Senzano

Rossio has been a member of FFO’s warehouse staff since 2010. She likes her job because the high level of activity in the warehouse always keeps her busy. Rossio spends her free time caring for her five-year-old niece and 10-year-old nephews.

Patrick Silas

Patrick is a warehouse staff member who joined our team to help us feed more families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patrick is especially passionate about helping individuals facing food insecurity and loves that his job is an opportunity to give back. Patrick is a Denver, CO native who loves hiking, cooking, and cheering on the Denver Broncos.

Warren Dorr

Warren was born in Peru but has lived in the Northern Virginia area for the majority of his life. He spent years moving around the United States and even spent a year in Hawaii, which was his favorite place to live. He has a seven year old son that he cares for on his own and he chose to work at Food for Others because he has needed help in the past and is now passionate about giving back. Warren is a fan of all Washington sports teams and in his free time enjoys playing sports with his son, his girlfriend and her children.

Alexsandro Carlo

Alexsandro (Alex) is a warehouse staff member and truck driver for Food for Others’ mobile sites. He first started working for Food for Others part-time in January 2020. He delivers food to families that live in areas of high need that would otherwise be unable to access our services. Alex is originally from Newark, New Jersey. However, he’s lived in the DMV for the past 23 years. Outside of work you can find Alex spending time with his kids. 

Jon Foster

Jon Foster recently relocated to Northern Virginia. He’s originally from upstate New York, but has also spent time in Oregon, Rhode Island, Georgia, and Florida. The most important people in Jon’s life are his family, including his wife, Wendi, and their two sons, Bailey and Clay. Jon enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors.
