Arjun Gowder’s Bike Ride Fundraiser was a tremendous success this year. After raising $250 last year, Arjun more than doubled his fundraising goal this year. The ride had a turnout of 34 people, beginning at 10:00 am on Sunday, October 17th. He raised $714.90, and his parents have agreed to match the funds raised.  With his parents’ donation, his funds raised increase to $1, 429.80.

While conducting outreach for his fundraiser, Arjun spoke with family, friends, and neighbors. He also coordinated with stores for support. Harris Teeter and Trader Joes provided gift cards, and Arjun used the gift cards to purchase food to donate. Jersey Mikes provided subs for race day. Participants also donated 217 lbs of food.

Arjun and his family expressed their gratitude for the support the fundraiser received. At the race, Arjun even shared his excitement about volunteering with Food for Others again in the future.
