Sprinting to Stop Hunger: Lace Up with Food for Others

Join Food for Others at our 11th Annual Tysons 5K & Fun Run in partnership with the Feed Series! Last year, we celebrated our largest 5K & Fun Run to date! This year promises to be even more unforgettable as we come together to support our neighbors.

In Fairfax County over 75,000 individuals struggle with food insecurity. Food for Others serves as part of Northern Virginia’s safety net by providing to our neighbors in need. Serving over 3,000 families and 3,900 children (Power Pack Program) a week we need your help raising awareness and supporting our work in the community.

September marks Hunger Action Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about food insecurity and supporting anti-hunger efforts in the community. Close out Hunger Action Month with Food for Others as we lace up and sprint to stop hunger!

More About the Feed Series

Beginning in 2023, the Food for Others 5K & Fun Run joined the Feed Series. The Feed Series consists of 3 races – the Feed Fairfax 5K (May), the Food for Others 5K & Fun Run (September), and the Feed a Veteran 5K (November). Each race is dedicated to fighting food insecurity in our community.

Hunger Action Month is a time to raise awareness and take action against hunger in our communities. Throughout September, individuals, organizations, and communities across the country come together to take a stand against hunger food insecurity. It’s a month dedicated to advocating for those who struggle with hunger, supporting local food banks and pantries, and finding meaningful ways to make a difference. From 5Ks to food drives, Hunger Action Month empowers everyone to join the fight against hunger and ensure that all individuals and families have access to food.
