Our Community,
I am filled with gratitude for everything we have accomplished in 2024. This year has been full of new experiences and successes. We started the year with our busiest month on record – serving over 400 people a day, we celebrated the warmer months by increasing access to locally sourced produce through our produce stand, and we marked Hunger Action Month in September with our largest 5K & Fun Run turn out to date. Our impact is a testament to the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, community partners, and staff.
In 2024 we expanded our impact as we grew to serve a rising number of our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. This year 27% of Fairfax County households struggled to afford healthy, nutritious groceries. Food for Others distributed over 3.8 million pounds of food to 64,218 individuals, serving as a much needed safety net for the community.
I am excited to see what we will accomplish together as we transition into 2025. On this New Year’s Eve, over 96,000 of our neighbors are experiencing food insecurity. As new challenges arise, Food for Others’ front door remains open to our neighbors who need food assistance. We need your help making this possible.
Thank you for supporting Food for Others over the past 12 months. Community is the heart of our mission – every voice, donation, and volunteer shift furthers our impact. Together, we will build upon 2024’s accomplishments, making 2025 a year of significant impact and shared prosperity.
